One Magical Weekend has celebrated LGBT Pride at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida longer than most of our new attendees have been alive. It was with great sadness that we learned about the Orlando Terror Attack at our beloved Pulse Nightclub just days after our signature Pride Month event. Upon hearing the news, One Magical Weekend staff – although grieving and heartbroken – answered the call of the community and have been working hand in hand with our local LGBT non-profit organizations that we support, including the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and Hope & Help Center of Central Florida, to deliver volunteers and aid to all of our victims, their families, and our community.
Now that time has passed and the initial crisis is over, we want to honor the 49 victims of our community who lost their lives in this absolutely tragic fashion. 49 people who wanted to celebrate and enjoy LGBT Pride Month as we all had together just at Disney just days earlier. To do so, we need your help.
We have setup an auction site that is available to raise donation money for the #OneOrlando fund. We are auctioning off some wonderful gifts, and our goal is to raise at least $25,000 for our local community in its time of need. There are many who will forever be scarred by this shooting along with many who we will never see again. They need our help now, and its up to all of us to support them in our time of greatest need.
Please visit our auction, and take a moment to help us raise funds for Orlando. We are Pulse. We are Orlando, We are United.
